I've been looking for something else, something different. One of the things I like most about visiting Mexico is the amount of surprises it gives you. Puerto Arista is one of those surprises that many people have never heard of, not even other Mexicans. It is far from being one of those Mexican beach towns with a developed tourist industry. The nearest city is San Cristóbal de las Casas, and to get there from there you have to drive or take a bus from Tonalá. There are no hotels here; there may be some locals offering lodging in back alleys, but that's all for now.
